SO, NEITHER ONE OF US IS NAMED CHUCK.

Why "Two Chucks" then? Well, when Chris Brignola and Jay Sharfstein first met at Lowe & Partners in the mid-90s, they soon discovered their shared love of Happy Days. The conversation soon turned to show trivia and a shared excitement of knowing there were actually two different actors (Gavan O'Herlihy and Randolph Roberts) who played Richie Cunningham's older brother 'Chuck'.

In that instant a friendship, a partnership and a really random inside joke was born.

Chris and Jay have been together a majority of their 20+ year careers working and running groups at Lowe, Fallon, BBH and JWT. In 2005, they launched their own agency, Filter Advertising, and soon began directing through their sister production company, Defiant. It was at Filter/Defiant where Jay and Chris started writing and directing promos and co-branded work for the cable and entertainment industry. By bringing an advertising sensibility to the promo world, Filter soon started making a name for itself by winning 29 Promax awards in just a few short years. In 2013, Filter was acquired by an ad agency out of the midwest and for three years Chris and Jay served as Executive Creative Directors of the New York and New Jersey offices.

In 2017, Chris and Jay rebooted Filter Advertising and are servicing select companies with their branding and marketing expertise, while continuing to offer their writing and directing talents to entertainment industry.
